Overview

This is a unique chance for a passionate communicator to join a fast growing start-up. Whether delivering playful, engaging content for our global tech product, planning editorial pieces for industry or running our owned channels, you would become the voice of Hello Lamp Post. We can offer the right candidate rapid progression in career paths such as content writing, marketing and communications. This role would report into our Senior Marketing Manager and we’re open to applications of any level, but ideally you have 1-2 years experience in a related industry.

What is Hello Lamp Post 📣

Hello Lamp Post helps companies, services and governments make cities more people-centric by engaging with citizens at a hyper-local level in a fun and playful way. Our platform is a unique chat-based platform that can give a “voice” to any kind of place, space or street object (post boxes, park benches, parking meters and – of course – lamp posts).

Our backend aggregates the opinions that users have shared, and we turn these into insights for decision makers. Our clients choose us because we can expand their reach within the community, broaden the diversity of feedback, increase communication and decision making efficiency and improve community wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content marketing – writing blogs and case studies on themes related to our mission to make public space more democratic
  • Email and CRM – researching, delivering and managing our newsletter
  • Website management – updating and creating new content
  • Tone of voice – working with our existing tone of voice and brand documents, and evolving them, to deliver consistent experiences across our public facing channels
  • Interactive writing – using the Hello Lamp Post platform to create stories, engage citizens and bring to life objects and spaces with simple accessible language
  • Client management – translating each client’s objectives into text message conversations that offer rich experiences to communities around the world
  • Events and talks – research and manage topical panels, webinars and talks with our partners
  • Press – supporting with local, national and global press relations to promote our work and the wider business
  • Social media management – engaging in a timely way across social channels
  • Performance marketing – supporting on PPC campaigns across Linkedin and Facebook
  • SEO – Manage and report on SEO performance
  • Creative specification and delivery – supporting to brief on graphics, imagery and moving image to sit alongside our social outreach
  • ​​Conduct market research and analysis of target audiences and industry trends
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance

Experience and Skills

  • Highly organised and analytical – you make sure things get done to a high standard
  • Communicator – excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Looking for responsibility – you are keen to learn and develop, taking on increasing responsibility as you grow with the business
  • Process driven – with multiple channels to manage you will always be looking to ways to improve your working process
  • An experience with or knowledge of CRMs (Hubspot, Zendesk or similar)
  • Experience with Digital Marketing tools (Hubspot marketing, MailChimp or similar)
  • End to end experience working on a digital marketing campaign
  • Ability to prioritise, organise, plan and coordinate activities/time with minimal direction
  • Comfortable with an autonomous working environment
  • Enjoy being part of and contributing to a friendly and diverse team

Nice to have

  • A passion for empowering people, tech for good, social impact or community engagement
  • You love writing and want to do it every day – ideally you can point to examples of your work online
  • An interest in user experience and accessibility
  • Experience with technology or the start-up world
  • Marketing experience or degree/ equivalent
  • A basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar design software
