What is a Digital Team Member?
A Digital Team Member is Hello Lamp Post's approach to AI-powered digital assistance.
Unlike a generic chatbot, Digital Team Members are designed to work as an extension of an existing team, available 24/7 to:
- Answer frequently asked questions
- Provide location-specific information in real-time
- Gather user feedback at scale
- Automate workflows to save valuable staff time

How our AI Digital Assistants engage with audiences
Connect audiences with an AI Digital Team Member through signage, QR codes and location-based experiences.
Help visitors find information, answer questions and access support through via a website chat widget.
Digital Team Members can be accessed through channels such as SMS and WhatsApp.
Build Digital Team Members around specific roles, services, locations and audiences - from airport passenger support to resident engagement and environmental information.

Our History
Hello Lamp Post was officially founded in March 2018, but the idea existed long before that.
It all started as a one-off digital art installation after we won Watershed’s Playable City Award in 2013. We wanted to take something familiar - Bristol’s existing infrastructure - and make it playful and interactive.
Hello Lamp Post began in 2013 as a digital art installation created after winning Watershed's Playable City Award. The idea was simple: take familiar parts of Bristol's infrastructure and make them interactive.
The public’s response to our Bristol installation was incredible, and it was at that moment we realised the potential to do so much more. You could say it was our lightbulb moment. Since then, our journey has taken us across the globe, with support from industry leaders like Meta and Microsoft.
Our goal is to one day make every corner of the world interactive, reaching and supporting people everywhere.
